A large formal garden August 2009: New pictures showing how this garden is maturing in its first summer after planting. 14 pictures. |

A formal Elizabethan garden A design to evoke images of a traditional manor house garden, with a formal feel achieved with typical box hedging, and a strong mix of shrubs, roses and perennials. 17 pictures. |

A large country garden August 2009: New photos added. Despite this large garden still being under construction when some of these photographs were taken, it gives a clear idea of the colours achievable in a short space of time, through thoughtful planting combinations. Rose Walk August 2009: New pictures of this rose walk in a large garden, at varying stages of development. The perennials here move through the colours of yellow, orange, red, to blue/purple to draw you through the walk. It is also underplanted with masses of bulbs to give a big impact in spring. 4 pictures. |

A quiet retreat in a town garden Some lush planting has provided this beautiful quiet haven only minutes from a busy town centre. 5 pictures. |

A front garden This front garden provides seasonal interest in the use of evergreen shrubs and perennials and grasses with winter silhouette. Spring and summer colour is achieved by underplanting with Tulip and Allium and summer bulbs. 7 pictures. |

Colourful borders in a country garden The brief here was to provide a long season of summer colour achieved through contrasting hot and cold colour schemes for the various borders. 8 pictures. |

Courtyard Garden Under construction when these photographs were taken, this courtyard garden links an older property with a new contemporary swimming pool. The evergreen forms link the new garden to the existing. 6 pictures. |

A country garden This design coped with dramatic changes in ground levels, using Kent ragstone walls. The planting provides seasonal interest with perennials and grasses that have a long flowering season and form a strong winter silhouette. 5 pictures. |

Steep front garden The planting here is to soften the high retaining brick walls, which were built to deal with the extreme change of level in this garden. Seasonal interest is created with a mix of shrubs and perennials underplanted with spring bulbs. 5 pictures. |
