Tunbridge Wells.

The brief was to create a simple but effective space for the clients to sit out in. As the roof is not reinforced the paving is laid on pegs and lightweight GRP planters have been used around the edges for the planting. The plants need to withstand the effect of the drying winds at this height, so box hedging was used to create an evergreen presence with the ivy screens installed to provide an element of screening. The box hedging is clipped twice yearly to maintain the compact growth. An irrigation system was set up on a timer to water the plants and preventing any drying out. The waterfall cascade creates the focal point and is of interest particularly at night when the uplighters illuminate it.
